Terms of Service

Last updated: September 12, 2025

Welcome to Volume Shader Benchmark. These terms outline acceptable use, sharing, and responsibilities when running the benchmark. If you have any questions, please contact us.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using the Volume Shader Benchmark website and services, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

2. Use License

We grant you a limited, non‑exclusive, non‑transferable license to use the website for personal or internal evaluation. You may not: - copy or republish site content without permission; - attempt to decompile or reverse engineer site code or shaders where prohibited by law; - interfere with or disrupt the service or related networks; - bypass or disable any security or rate‑limiting controls.

3. Benchmark Disclaimer

The benchmark measures rendering performance under specific settings and scenes. Results vary by hardware, drivers, browser versions, thermals, and background load. Numbers are provided “as is” for informational purposes and are not official hardware specifications.

4. Device and Safety

Rendering workloads can increase device temperature and power draw. Ensure adequate cooling and power. You are responsible for safe operation of your device while running the benchmark.

5. Results and Sharing

Share links may include benchmark parameters and summary metrics (e.g., FPS and frame time). Anyone with the link can view these values. Do not include personal information in shared URLs or screenshots. You are solely responsible for what you publish.

6. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to misuse the service, including but not limited to: - automated traffic that degrades service quality; - attempts to probe or bypass security; - distributing malware or engaging in abusive, harassing, or unlawful behavior.

7. Links

External links may appear on the site. We are not responsible for the content or practices of third‑party sites. Use of any linked site is at your own risk.

8. Modifications

We may update these Terms of Service at any time. We will update the Last Updated date above. Continued use of the site after changes indicates acceptance.

9. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Volume Shader Benchmark operates, without regard to conflict of law principles.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Volume Shader Benchmark shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or business, arising from or related to your use of the site or the benchmark.

11. GPU Load, Thermal Behavior, and User Responsibility

The benchmark is a stress test and may push your GPU to high utilization. This can raise device temperature, trigger thermal throttling, and reduce FPS as the system protects itself. Our UI attempts to help: when sustained low FPS is detected, the benchmark may warn you or stop automatically and suggest using a lower preset. However, these prompts are best‑effort only. You must actively monitor your GPU data (FPS, frame time, temperatures, and stability) and decide when to press Stop or close the page to end the test. By running the benchmark, you acknowledge and accept responsibility for your own testing behavior and any consequences arising from it.
